Austenitic manganese steel X5 - bending test

Austenitic manganese steel components are produced using a recently developed material known as X5. This material is based on the traditional manganese alloyed high carbon steel. By heat treatment and by changing additional alloying elements, the work hardening and ductility of the austenitic manganese steel are retained. Tests conducted under various operating conditions have achieved significantly high life times.
